Lapsang Souchong (正山小种)is black tea, specialty tea in Fujian. Quality characteristic of Lapsang Souchong:
Shape: fat, tightly, roundly and straight
Color: black bloom
Soup color: red brilliant
Aroma: high aroma, with pine resin flavor
Taste: mellow, like longan soup flavor
Infused leaves: tender, soft and red bright

Lapsang Souchong and artificial Souchong are known as the Souchong black tea. Black tea tree is divided into big leaves and small leaves.Black tea is generally divided into three Categories: Souchong (small leaves produced), Gongfu (Kung Fu,big leaves produced), broken black tea. The highly competitive domestic and international tea market early, there is conflict between Lapsang tea and Waishan tea,Lapsang means orthdox,so called Lapsang Souchong.
Lapsang Souchong black tea was born in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, produced in the Wuyi Mountain of Fujian, a famous tea in China. Paulownia is still the center origin, and the other Sung, Jianyang, shiny junction of three counties had high tea production. Lapsang Souchong is divided into four categories: leaf tea, slice tea, powdered tea, cai tea. Lapsang Souchong black tea take camellia Chelan as raw materials, pick two leaves and a bud standards. Processing of Lapsang Souchong include plucking, withering, rolling, fermentation and drying. Dry with smoking pine firewood to make it with a unique pine resin flavor.
