Let me introduce this time the list of top web directories to submit your website or blog to. All of them are free (optionally) and very quality. This list is being updated already during several months, which makes it one of the best for you.
Now, below are 3 basic tips why you need to submit your websites to these directories:
1) Get you first traffic!
- Very common reason. There are lots of opinions about that. Most of them tell us that we need to write more often and more precious content. It’s actually right. But when we begin, we can’t wait. We need the result as faster as possible. I feel the same right now. I really want to see, that my website is being visited. One of the things, that can help it, is adding your website link to high-ranked web directories.
2) Top web directories will raise your PR.
- That’s it. But be careful choosing those web directories. Pick up only quality ones.
3) Mostly it’s all because of traffic.
- Don’t you think that only submissions will do your PR like 5-6 or more, right? So don’t. It’s just another way to bring you some targeted traffic.

PS:Don’t waste your time on submitting to thousands of web directories. That’s not worth it.. Focus on some hot web directories and just stop. Want to know why? Then watch Lisa’s video: Are Directory Submissions Worth It?.

High-ranked web directories will raise your PR.
Not if they DON”T pass PR, but you knew that. :)
Most of these sites do help you rank better, the fact you are in the higher PR ones means you are more important to google, good luck getting in dmoz though, you are probably looking at years rather than months.
My recent blog: Directory Submission
Yes these should help you. I remember a video where Matt Cutts from Google said that it is OK for a directory to charge a review fee for links as long as it only accepts quality links. That way the inclusion to the directory is an indication of quality.

Tips for Comments:
Read the tips before you hit the "Submit" button.
NB! Though your name links are nofollow, I can make your ComLuv links dofollow - manually. And I will make them dofollow, if you show your most relevant recent post.
1. Try to add value;
2. Don't be another "congratulator";
3. Use your real name or promotional name, not keywords;
4. Do not use "name@keywords", there is no "keyword love" plugin here;
5. Try to be polite, where it's possible;
6. Do not agree with everything - that sounds and looks ridiculous;
7. If you wish to leave some link to one of your posts, or to some other - make sure the source is relevant;
8. Use advantages of CommentLuv on this blog. Show your most relevant recent blog post;
9. Share your opinion even if it is contrary to mine;
10. Check twice your grammatical errors;
PS. Full Comment Policy is on my About Me page.
