Organic tea is in accordance with the methods of organic agriculture production and processing of tea. In organic tea production process, and not use any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, plant growth regulators, chemical food additives and other substances for production. Tea must be consistent with standards of International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), and by the review organization shall issue a certificate of organic food. Organic tea is a clean, pure natural tea.
Organic tea cultivations are divided into organic cultivation and quasi-organic cultivation. Organic cultivation is cultivation methods that entirely not use any chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and must fully use the unpolluted organic fertilizers, using natural methods of pest control. Quasi-organic cultivation is permitted within certain limits, to use some chemical fertilizers and pesticides with low toxicity, but the product still can not have any chemical pesticide residues in cultivation methods.
