Here’s a simple opportunity for your blog to be listed in my most popular list of blogs using CommentLuv. That post has got PageRank 2 and I believe, that it will be increased after the next Google PageRank update.
Anyways, all you need to do is to suggest it in the comments below.
What Blogs Do I Accept?
It may be absolutely any kind of a blog. It doesn’t matter whether it’s yours or your friend’s. The only requirement is installed CommentLuv WP plugin.
Why Do I Need At Least 15 Blogs Using CommentLuv?
As you’ve, probably, noticed, my list of CommentLuv blogs is called «Insane List of 140 … Blogs…». The problem is that there are only 125 blogs left, all the rest listings have whether uninstalled CommentLuv or those blogs don’t exist anymore.
Thus, I need at least 15 suggestions. There might be more, but I don’t guarantee, that they will be listed this time. 140 means 140 :)
DoFollow or NoFollow
There’s one more thing you should know. If your suggested blog has PageRank of 3 or less, I will add nofollow attribute to that listing. If it’s 4 or higher, its link will be nofollow free.
I’m doing so only because it is about quality of outgoing links.
Besides, if your blog has PageRank of 0-3 by now and after the next PageRank update it becomes 4 or higher, I will remove the nofollow attribute.
It’s fair enough, right?
PS. Don’t forget to check the list. Your blog might be already listed there.

When I was doing my latest post – Insane List of 140 Do Follow & Nofollow Blogs with CommentLuv 2010, I’ve noticed several strange things about do follow and nofollow blogs. Theoretically, a nofollow blog should rank better, than a do follow blog, because a nofollow blog doesn’t share its ranking in links. So, it means, that it stores it for itself. You know that. Nothing new. But..
Ok, let’s compare several pair of blogs from my list of blogs with CommentLuv. In this case, the “pair” is a do follow blog and a nofollow blog with similar Google pagerank and Alexa ranking.
Do Follow VS Nofollow: Round 1
blog.hichamaged.net (will be “A”) and www.jhsiess.com (will be “B”). Their Google pageranks are both 4. And both of them have appr. 219,000 of Alexa (by the 21st of Dec. 2009). A is a nofollow blog and B is a do follow blog. Ok with that.
Niches
A’s niche is “life, personal, psychology” and B’s niche is “life, death, personal”. Well.. the same boring, I guess :)
Compete Ranks
Use popuri.us to check my work. So.. A has 825,263 and B has 263,443. The lower means the better. Seems like B is winning. Let’s go further.
Yahoo backlinks
A has 18,449 and B – 18,120. Almost the same, so nobody wins this time.
Archives
A’s archive and B’s archive. Don’t count the total amount of their posts. You can visually decide, that A’s got twice more, than B.
Wait a minute.. A is nofollow and it has so many posts! This blog lives longer and it should be ranked better, than B. But considering the fact, that they have pagerank 4, B wins with less posts, because it has gained its rank faster. And it has better Alexa ranking, which means there is more website traffic running on this blog.
eblogtip.com (as “A”) and www.andrewkeir.com (as “B”). Both of them have Google pagerank 2 and Alexa – ~176,000. A is a do follow and B is nofollow.
Niches
A’s niche is mostly “blogging, design”, B’s niche is “blogging, money etc”. Almost the same.
Compete Ranks
A has N/A. B has 238,011. Technically, B wins.
Yahoo backlinks
A – 6,466, B – 744. It’s clear, that A wins.
Archives
B has about 185 posts and the first one was posted on October 19th, 2008. A has twice less – 98 posts by today, and the oldest post was published on Sept. 28th, 2009.
Summary
A wins, because it has twice less posts, it is younger and it has much more of backlinks. Remember, that A is a do follow blog?
Do Follow VS Nofollow: Final Conclusion
No doubt, that do follow blog is better, because you get high-ranked much more faster. Why? Maybe it’s because the majority of your visitors are those, who wants to comment. Or maybe those, who comment, eventually do some kind of an external promotion, which surely do the best for you and your blog.
What do you think?
Are those parameters, that I’ve used, enough for a total comparison of do follow and nofollow blogs? Maybe there is something else, that should change the final result of this experiment?
I’ll gladly accept your opinions.

What is Alexa Ranking? - This question still bothers many bloggers: «What means Alexa ranking?», «What is Alexa ranking?»... I have met so-o-o many blogs arguing on this topic, that it is time for me to explain the value of Alexa web ranking, because I cannot imagine my blog's niche without it....
Alright! At last! 4 full days or about 36 hours of searching and filtering and now it’s done. Simply insane list of 140 do follow and nollow blogs. Moreover, I’ve sorted all of them out. Now you are able to pick those, which are better.
How are they sorted?
By Google pagerank, Alexa ranking, and this time I’ve added some notes, that will help you to search those blogs, that relate to your niche.
How this list supposed to help you?
You can get lots of external links from other blogs to your site. The only thing you have to do is to leave good comments. Don’t spam :) It is useless and pointless.
What is CommentLuv?
This is a wordpress plugin, that adds a link to the latest post of the comment’s author. More about CommentLuv.
Why is this list so perfect?
Well.. First of all, it’s compiled from about 900 websites. I’ve found them on the first 15 pages of Google search with the following phrase – cumment luv dofollow. I’ve looked for all the most valuable lists.
It was really hard, because almost all of the provided links were dead. But.. a little bit of patience and everything’s done now :)
About notes
As you can see, I’ve added some notes, but not to every listed blog. Why is that? That is because those blogs, that don’t have any note, relate to my niche and I will, probably, use for commenting.
Why notes are so short?
I save your time :) It would be better for SEO to make several-lines-notes, but that wouldn’t look compact.
What’s my niche?
Look under my logo above :) It says “Speaking about website traffic & promotion”. Well.. Of course it’s not so easy to fit my niche for so many blogs. But I’m going to use also “make money online”, “tech”, “blogging tips” and “internet marketing” blogs for commenting. Rather close, isn’t it? Anyway, I think it’s my targeted traffic :)
Why 2010 again?
Because these dofollow and nofollow blogs will, probably, work in 2010, as most of them do now. Anyways, this list will be updated after each Google PageRank update.
How to treat “+”, “-”, “?” in the scheme?
Example 1: “example.com – (-;-) – 5 – 201,471 – rare”. From this example you can see that michaeltorbert.com author’s link in comment is “nofollow” and the CommentLuv’s link is also “nofollow”. Google pagerank is 5 and Alexa ranking is 201,471. The note says, that this blog publishes new posts rarely.
Example 2: “example2.com – (+;-) – 3 – 1,305,531 – tech, writing, very rare”. From this example you can see that inkthinkerblog.com author’s link in comment is “do follow”, but CommentLuv’s link is “nofollow”. The note says, that the current blog relates to the niche about technologies and writing. “Very rare” means, that the author of this blog publishes new posts extremely rare >.<, so there won't be much work with commenting on this blog.
Example 3: “example3.com – (+;?) – 3 – 25,578 – fast growth”. From this example you can see that example3.com author’s link in comment is “do follow”, but CommentLuv’s link is whether dofollow or nofollow and there’s no exact explanation why it’s not exact. Contact that blog’s author for more details. The note says, that this blog has very fast promotion. You better stick to what’s going on it.
So.. I hope I’ve answered most of the possible questions.
Scheme of the list: “URL – (+/-/?;+/-/?) – Google pagerank – Alexa ranking – Note”
A lot of work, right? Basically, because I started blogging not so long time ago, I’ve made this list for myself :) So, you can see, that I didn’t regret my time. Good luck, dear commenters!
PS: “Almost dead” changed to “Barely Active” :)
PPS: “Barely Active” changed to “Rarely Updated” :)

I’m not going to speak about how cool is Sphinn. I’m not going to persuade you to join it. If you know this website, then you’re, probably, already joined it.
Today I’d like to share some of my experience in promoting your website or blog at Sphinn.com . First of all, these essential tips (rules) will help you to avoid the termination of your account on Sphinn. You’ll be able to improve your promotion there. And.. that’s probably it for this topic.
Rule #1
Follow the Sphinn guidelines. The main tip here is that, when you’ve just signed up, do not submit more than once per twenty-four hours. It’s essential.
My first account was terminated, because of this. Sad.. but true. If you violate this rule, don’t panic. You have the second chance.
Rule #2
Do not submit your stuff. That’s crucial one.
Of course you want it. Just like I did at the very beginning. But that’s not smart. Moreover, there is no future for that method as well.
Rule #3
Submit others’ stuff. But keep the appropriate measure of it. As your first 7 days let you submit only 7 things, think better. You’re about to make your face on Sphinn. There are good moderators, that whether like you, or not. So be attentive.
Here’s my little example. As my first account was terminated (I’ve submitted more than once per day in the very beginning), I’ve registered another one. Then I’ve submitted my post about RSS directories, which is not bad at all. And guess what.. it was discarded by a moderator for the following reason: “User was killspammed once, discarding this post, looks to be of little value.”
Wake me up! What was that? Did he remember me or what? Anyways, that’s why I recommend you to follow the rules.
Rule #4
Check the presense of your submission on Sphinn using search. If you duplicate someone’s topic, you have a good chance to be banned for spamming :).
Rule #5
Manage your profile. That’s your weapon. Use it on max. Take some time to get all of your links to your other profiles.
Pick the best photo of you or your website/blog.
Use the feature, that will show your RSS feed. I really think, that this is why you shouldn’t submit your own articles or posts at all. Because, if someone cares about your work, then he or she should discover it by himself or herself.
Rule #6
Comment as much as you can. Since this is the most efficient way to make people care. One by one they’ll start wondering who you are. And you’ll get what you’ve been working for. The promotion. The result.
Rule #7
Remember what is Sphinn about.
Sphinn’s niche is Internet Marketing News and Discussion Forums. Its Google pagerank is 6 and Alexa ranking is 5,926 now.
What’s the most important for your promotion is that Sphinn has no “nofollow” attribute on links. What means “nofollow”?
That’s it for this time. Enjoy your sphinning and meet me there as well :) – iWoodpecker on Sphinn.

The easiest way to get your first (or extra) external links is to submit your pages (links) to social bookmarking websites. But then come several problems. What are the best social bookmarking sites? What’s better: “nofollow” or “dofollow” links? I’ve prepared the answers..
Firstly.. what means “nofollow” and “dofollow”?
1) NoFollow – this means, that Google’s crawlers will not follow and will not index your link. The posted link won’t be counted as an external link.. though it’ll bring you some fresh direct traffic! Cool, huh?
PS Search engines like Yahoo don’t mind your “nofollow” links. They simply ignore “nofollow” attributes.
2) DoFollow – actually, there is no any “dofollow” meta tag. But that’s how is called a link, when it has no “nofollow” attribute. The good news is that search engine robots will index your “dofollow” links and that will raise your position in search results according to PR of the website, where you’ve submitted your link. Confused about that?
Check out this example.
OK, I hope the above info is clear enough. Now meet my collection of the best social bookmarking sites divided into “no follow” and “do follow” categories.
